NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS!

On our old blog, I actually posted my new year’s resolutions. And all of them were in regard to house maintenance!

Well Drum Roll Please … #1 resolution is COMPLETE! Took half a year to finally get it done, but it’s DONE! The outside of the house is painted! Can I get a WOO HOO! Oh, just noticed half way down the list that 1/2 of another one is complete ~ tear down back patio cover (and replace with something else). Can I therefore get a 1/2 a WOO!  Still in discussions over what type of pergola, cover, etc. for the patio. Going to let that idea sit with us for awhile until we decide. Enjoy and BTW, how are your resolutions coming along???

Our House

And then the prepping & scrapping begins

Then the fun starts with the painting, and I will only bore you with just one of those pics…which is of one of my favorite guys at work! Always had a smile in this hot Texas weather! I kept them all very hydrated with loads of H20!

AND NOW FOR THE DRUM ROLL…………

The picture doesn’t seem to do the house justice nor truly show the color (which is a taupe/grey). Regardless, we are so lovin’ it. We only need to replace a few bushes the painters semi-damaged in the process (and not on purpose) and add some color in the beds & in the big planter on the porch. (Backyard is going to get a major overhaul and the people who live in this newly painted house will be the workers on that job. Kids don’t know about that yet! Shhh)

Whew! Now onto the next project. Well, first things first….glass of wine PLEASE! Cheers!

Oops! Almost forgot. Before & after pics of back porch. Suggestions are welcomed for any “cover”  ideas.

Bonus Pic… The little house behind our house got a little face lift too with pure white paint!

Plan on adding shutters, potted plants by the door & adding a Gabbin’ Headquarters sign!
